I have begun cutting a quilt using
the Jewel Box pattern. This quilt will be of plaid and solid woolens,
corduroys, and velveteens -- and I'm sure some of this rather old fabric has
polyester in it. I washed and dried it all before cutting, so as to
minimize the risk of some pieces shrinking at different rates than other
pieces. I just finished cutting 300 colored HSTs. Looks like quite
the motley assortment, doesn't it? Let's hope the pieces won't continue to shrink in varying degrees, creating a monstrosity of lumps and ripples.

I am now cutting up an old
half-finished (I didn't do it!) coat out of a lovely cream wool. It even
had perfectly done bound buttonholes!

around to put some fabric into a bin:
