Sashing and Borders for the Buoyant Blossoms Wall Hanging

These are the borders for the Buoyant Blossoms wall hanging.  There are still four more flower blocks to go on the larger personal throw.  I will post a new flower block shortly.  The borders for the personal throw will be different than those for the wall hanging.  I will post them after the flower blocks are complete.

Spring Dance, by Barbara Clem

This quilt just won Best of Show at the AQS quilting show in Grand Rapids, Michigan.  We saw it in the AQS show in Daytona Beach, Florida, and I took two photos of it.  To see it up close, right click and choose Open link in new tab or window.  I've uploaded it in high quality, so it may take a few seconds to load.

Quilting the Gaillardia -- Buoyant Blossoms Quilt

I got several more blocks quilted this morning before we left for Grand Island, where we will drop off the things I am entering in the Nebraska State Fair.  Here's the Gaillardia appliqué block:

Quilting Row 2, Buoyant Blossoms

A carrot-raisin cake with cream cheese frosting interrupted the quilting tonight.
Mmmmmm, mmmmm.

Purple coneflower

Two more nine-patch pinwheel blocks...

Pink lily-of-the-valley

Row of Blocks for Buoyant Blossoms Finished

Tiger has decided he likes to keep me company while I quilt -- usually, right at and around my feet, which I need to actually move as I'm traipsing back and forth in front of the quilting frame.

He's purring, little paws flexing in and out, in and out.  This is one fat cat.  He's not getting that fat off of only our cat food!  Where else is he eating, and why does he think he needs to belong to us?

Quilting First Blocks of Buoyant Blossoms Quilt

The candle I made Saturday is scenting the quilting studio -- this layer is caramel vanilla.

Rose appliqué block

The stitch-in-the-ditch on the pinwheels is done; the plain little blocks are still to be quilted.

Quilting yet to be done on the Dresden quarter-plate and on the blue border.

Iris appliqué partly done.

Quilting Buoyant Blossoms' Pieced Border

The colors are a little off, because it's nighttime, and I turned off the overhead lights and didn't use the on-camera flash, in order to show the texture in the quilting.  The top four borders are done, down to light blue border #5.
