Wholecloth Pink Paisley Swirl Quilt with Fleece Back

The wholecloth pink paisley swirl throw with the fleece back is done and on its way to town with Larry, so he can give it to my sister-in-law, Annette, who was recently diagnosed with ovarian cancer and has started undergoing chemotherapy.

My daughter Hester gave me these quilting clips for my birthday recently.  They worked perfectly for this job.  So nice, not trying to sew a rosebush, and finishing by looking like I had a wrestling match with a porcupine.  The fold-it-to-the-back, stitch-in-the-ditch-from-the-front method will always require pins -- but the fold-it-to-the-front, stitch-it-down-with-a-fancy-stitch method will now be accomplished with quilting clips!

I used a short and narrow hem stitch to put the binding on -- fleece, left wider and longer than the front, then brought from the back and folded over.

Quilting designs always look pretty on fleece.

I just followed the print of the fabric for my quilting design.

300 Diamond Petals

I'm cutting 300 diamond-shaped 'petals' for the blossoms on the Baskets of Lilies quilt.  Almost done.

Next, I'll cut 25 'blossom bases' in green triangles.  Here's the block:

After the triangles, I have all the white background pieces to cut... and then I'll start sewing everything together.  Here's the entire quilt pattern, designed in EQ7:

Finished Quilting Shellie's Americana Quilt

Last night I finished quilting my customer's Americana quilt.  The pantograph is 'Eagle with Stars'.  I used navy #40 100% cotton Signature thread on top, and dark gray #60 Superior Bottom Line in the bobbin.  The quilt measures 60" x 70".

Quilting Shellie's Americana Quilt

Quilting my customer's Americana quilt.  One row is done.  The pantograph is called 'Eagle with Stars'.

I'd keep going, but the toes I broke last night are complaining, and the other foot has pins and needles in it from carrying most of my weight while I leaned this way and that, quilting.

Shellie's Halloween Quilt, Quilting Finished

Quilting is finished on my customer's Halloween quilt.  The pantograph is 'Halloween Bats'.  Maybe tomorrow I can get pictures of it outside in natural light... or maybe not.  Thunderstorms are predicted.

This is the other side.

I'm about half done with my customer's Halloween quilt.  The pantograph is called 'Halloween Bats'.
