Carol's Big Baby Star Quilt, Finished

Last night I finished quilting my customer's Big Baby Star quilt.  I used a pantograph called Ribbons and Stars, designed by Deloa Jones.  I've had the panto for many years, and probably got it at either www.sewthankful.com or www.urbanelementz.com.  It must not be available anymore; I cannot find it anywhere.

I used off-white So Fine #50 thread on top, and light tan Bottom Line #60 in the bobbin.   The batting is Hobbs Heirloom cotton.  The quilt measures 42" x 42".  Carol will put the binding on it.

Quilting A Customer's Big Baby Star Quilt

The first row is done on Carol's Big Baby Star quilt.  After explaining why I'd rather use a pantograph with curves, such as Ducks & Bubbles, or Rattles & Balls, as opposed to stars, I discovered the Ribbons & Stars panto in my pantograph drawer, and just had to use it.  (Yes, of course stars are harder to quilt than curves.  😉 )  Third shot is a picture Carol took of the top.

Old-Fashioned Sewing Machine Quilt Finished

I finally had time to put the binding on the Old-Fashioned Sewing Machine quilt today. It measures 36.5" x 50". It is made from a panel by Rosiland Solomon called 'A Stitch in Time'. I will hang it somewhere in the upstairs landing outside my quilting studio, using a decorative oak quilt hanger my brother gave me a few years ago.
