Here's a nifty sun catcher I got from son-in-law and daughter Andrew and Hester, and children Keira and Oliver. Keira, 5, bounced excitedly on her toes, hardly able to wait for me to unwrap the box before telling me happily, “It’s a quilt!” And indeed, it’s in the shape of an Ohio Star with a Square in a Square in the middle.

Fabrics Pulled
Fabric pulled for a turquoise, black, and white quilt. (The turquoises match better in real life than they do in this photo.) A stack of whites are under the colored fabrics.
EQ8 -- Jacob's Ladder
Playing with EQ8...
A Jacob's Ladder variation:
Grandson Jacob needs a Jacob's Ladder quilt, don't you think?
Pink, Black, & White Pillow
Here's the matching pillow to the pink, black, and white quilt. It was not perfectly square, but I couldn't trim it, as it was already a wee bit too small for the pillow form I had. I cut the back a little too big, and put a tuck near each corner, two on each side. Annnnd... it fits. :-)

Pink, Black, & White Quilt, Finished
The pink, black, and white quilt is done. My daughter-in-law Amy found the quilt top at a secondhand store. The top was finished, but, inexplicably, turned under ⅜", and topstitched. It took a while to remove that stitching, as it seemed to be done at about 20 spi. The quilt measures 67" x 78". The batting is Quilters' Dream wool. There is white 50-wt. So Fine thread on top. Since it can hardly be seen on that busy top, and the pantograph I chose, "A Little Bit This" (that doesn't make sense, but don't blame me, I didn't name it) is a pretty one and I hated for it to go to waste, I decided to use black 60-wt. Bottom Line thread in the bobbin. It shows up nicely on that fuchsia backing. There is a pieced block that was evidently meant to be used for a decorative pillow; I still need to quilt it and find a pillow to put it on. There is also a matching pieced bag to carry the quilt. I plan to put straps on it.
Pink, Black, & White Quilt is Quilted
The pink, black, and white quilt top daughter-in-law Amy found at a secondhand store is all quilted. Tomorrow I will put the binding on it. There's a square that's evidently for a pillow that needs to be quilted, too. Whoever put it together even made a pieced bag for it. The bag needs handles, but there is no extra fabric except the backing.

Biblical Blocks Quilt, Delivered
And now for... The Rest of the Biblical Blocks Quilt Story.
Daughter-in-law Amy reports this:
Grandma was thrilled.
She does not remember making the quilt at this point. She said the one she was looking for she thought wasn't country colors but that she didn't ever remember making another quilt.
So it's possible this is the one.
She's going to think about what she would like on a tag and will talk to either you or me about it.
She understood that you had a lot of time invested into it.
We hung it on a quilt rack that she had at the end of her bed.
And here's a picture Amy took. I really am awfully happy Elaine likes the quilt, never mind whether or not she remembers it.
Whew! Other than working in my flower gardens, I am now finally free to work on the grandchildren's quilts! It's been a long time coming, this 'freedom'. I haven't done any cutting and piecing since July of 2021! Quilting, but not cutting and piecing. I like cutting and piecing. I shall cut and piece! Lord willing, that is. Lord willing, I shall cut and piece. 😊
