Eureka Quilt, pt. 6

Set E is done!  All 20 blocks.  It took longer than I expected to sew all those skinny strip sets on.  160 strip sets, to be exact.  Since 120 of them have two pieces each, that makes... (counting on fingers and toes) ... 280 pieces.

Hmmmm.  So that's why they took so long.

Eureka Quilt, pt. 2

The first set of 20 blocks are done.  Well, allllmost.  I still need to put two more sides on it... but that will have to wait until tomorrow; it's almost midnight.  Here they are, put together in an arrangement -- not the right arrangement, since these are the only blocks done so far.  Shows me that there are all sorts of things that can be done with this pattern, don't you think?

Eureka Quilt, pt. 1

I have begun the Eureka Quilt.  Here is the picture on my pattern booklet:

Cutting started last Saturday, July 09, and finished last night, July 15.  I now have the first set of 20 blocks partially done.  I'd have completed them, but I had to finish altering a suit for Victoria.  Lavender satin and tulle suits that daughters wish to wear to church the next day are of infinite more importance than any quilt could ever possibly hope to be, don't you know.

Napkins for Raised Dahlia Set

The matching dinner napkins are done!  They are 21" square, and I put a gold rolled hem on them

with my serger.

The ceramic geese napkin rings are vintage; I got them at the Goodwill, where evidently they didn't realize the rings are somewhat valuable, for they were only $1.00 for a set of four!  I have hunted for matching ones, and, while I didn't find any exactly the same, similar ones of the same age sell for $20 to $40 for a set of 4.  New ones go for $15-$20, but don't have the same  soft finish.
