Second Row, Mane Event

The second row of the Mane Event is allllmost done.  The frame isn't quite wide enough to entirely quilt a horse picture and all the sashing around it; I have to roll the quilt forward to complete it.  If it continues to take six or seven hours of quilting to finish one row, it'll take at least five more days of quilting before I'm done.

First Row, Mane Event

The first row of the Mane Event is quilted, and I've rolled the quilt forward to the second row.

Quilting the Main Event

Quilting has begun on the Mane Event for grandson Josiah.

Grant's Pillowcase

The pillowcase for grandson Grant is done; now to load his brother Josiah's Mane Event.

Here's the quilt it matches:

Backing for Mane Event

The backing for the Mane Event is all put together, and the backing for Heaven & Nature Sing is all together, too -- except 6 yards wasn't quite enough fabric. I've ordered more; it'll be here soon. Meanwhile, I'll start quilting the Mane Event tomorrow.

Mane Event Quilt Top Done

The Mane Event quilt top for grandson Josiah is complete, and I've started putting together the backing.  So far, just the middle of the backing is done; that's all the navy cowboy print I have.  The quilt top measures 96" x 101".  The center section of the backing measures 32" x 42 ½".  The skinny light blue striped strips are from some of Larry's work shirts that he no longer uses.  Amazingly enough, several of the backs of them had usable fabric!

Piecing the Mane Event

A few more pieces of sashing and at least a couple of borders, and grandson Josiah's Mane Event quilt will be ready to be quilted.  That light blue striped fabric is from some of Larry's retired work shirts.  Astonishingly, there was actually usable fabric (meaning, neither stained nor ripped nor weld-burned) on some of those shirt backs!
