Almost to the Halfway Mark on Customer's Quilt

After about ten hours of quilting today, I've rolled the quilt forward, and the center is now squarely in the middle of my frame.

Quilting a Customer's Quilt

I have another section of my customer's quilt done, and am ready to change thread to work on the green and blue areas before rolling it forward.

Victoria's Tumbling Blocks Quilt

About three years ago, Victoria started a Tumbling Blocks quilt for her sister's coming baby, in shades of green, pink, and off-white.  Her sister had the audacity to have a boy baby, and Victoria's desire to finish the quilt fizzled.  

Another reason she stopped working on it was because she used the same color for the tops of the blocks as for the background, not realizing how block-tops and background would blend together, somewhat spoiling the effects of the blocks.

I considered taking it apart and putting a darker cream-colored background on it, but she's done such a nice job of putting it together, I decided to instead use a contrasting color of thread to quilt the block tops, and an off-white thread for the background.  That should solve the blending problem.

I got the book, ABC 3-D Tumbling Blocks... and More!, by Marci Baker, back out of my bookcase, and found the pattern, Baby Blocks.  The finished center of the quilt is now pressed, the rest of the fabric is on my quilting table, the ruler and rotary cutter ready and waiting.  I'll work on it tomorrow, unless a customer's quilt arrives.

Customer's 'Growing Up Odd' Quilt

I've finished my customer's scrappy quilt.   The pattern is named 'Growing Up Odd'.  It  measures 93" x 93", and is comprised of 2,425 2" squares.
