Ruth's Botanica Park Quilt, Finished

Last night, I finished quilting my customer's Botanica Park quilt, a kit by Wing and A Prayer.  It measures 108" x 108".  The batting is Warm & Natural 100% cotton.  There's 'Sandy-Gray' Gütermann 50-wt. cotton thread on top, and 'Putty' So Fine 50-wt. poly in the bobbin. The pantograph is 'Wave on Wave'.

Sorry about the shadow on the quilt; that's from the deck umbrella.  And I couldn't wait until the sun had moved; I had to get the quilt to the post office.

Past Midpoint, Ruth's Botanica Park

I've passed the midpoint on my customer's Botanica Park quilt, a kit by Wing and A Prayer.  It measures 108" x 108".  The batting is Warm & Natural 100% cotton.  There's 'Sandy-Gray' Gütermann 50-wt. cotton thread on top, and ‘Putty’ So Fine 50-wt. poly in the bobbin.  The pantograph is 'Wave on Wave'.

I’d hoped to give it a couple more hours, but my back, right hand, and left big toe are protesting loudly. Why does quilting make that big toe hurt??? I must try hanging onto the floor with it as I’m going along! heh I applied first Capzasin, then Soothanol, and finally Pain-A-Trate to my back. That helped, but finally the cacophony of complaints brought me to a halt.

Well, that, and the fact that I ran out of bobbin thread. Sometimes that’s the straw that breaks the camel’s back.

Starting Ruth's Botanica Park

This afternoon I started another customer quilt. This one is called 'Botanica Park', a kit by Wing and a Prayer. It measures 108" x 108". The batting is Warm & Natural cotton, and I have Gütermann 50-wt. cotton thread in 'Sandy-Gray' on top, with a similar color, ‘Putty’, in So Fine 50-wt. poly in the bobbin.  The pantograph is called 'Wave on Wave'.

Linda's 'Frolic', by Bonnie Hunter, is Finished

My customer's 'Frolic' quilt, designed by Bonnie Hunter, is all quilted and on its way back to her.  The quilt measures 86" x 86".  The pantograph is 'Pink Hibiscus'.  There's pale silver 60-weight Bottom Line thread on top, and a melon-peach 60-weight Bottom Line thread on the bottom.

Quilting Linda's 'Frolic', by Bonnie Hunter

There are about three rows to go on my customer's quilt, 'Frolic', by Bonnie Hunter.  And these rows only take 15 minutes, unlike the last quilt, whose rows took about 4 hours! That's the difference between pantographs and custom quilting.

The pantograph is 'Pink Hibiscus'.  There's pale silver 60-weight Bottom Line thread on top, and a melon-peach 60-weight Bottom Line thread on the bottom.

As usual, Teensy is sprawled on the rug behind the frame, right where I need to walk.  Tiger is cuddled in his Thermabed under the frame.  And the neighbor man combining his corn at the top of the hill to the north is distracting me.

Linda's Quilt, 'Frolic', by Bonnie Hunter

I just started on another customer quilt, 'Frolic', by Bonnie Hunter.  I'm using the pantograph called 'Pink Hibiscus'.  There's pale silver 60-weight Bottom Line thread on top, and a peachy-orange 60-weight Bottom Line thread on the bottom, since that's the major color of the back.

The Dear Jane Quilt in Natural Lighting

Here is JoeAnn's Dear Jane quilt in natural lighting, as promised.  It was windy, and gusts kept coming up through the deck and creating a domed tent of the quilt.  😄

The quilt measures 108" x 108".  The blocks are 6.5".  I used Dream Wool batting, Gütermann 50-weight Tuskegee Gray 100% cotton thread on top, and 60-weight Bottom Line thread in a matching color in the bobbin.  The quilting was done on an 18" Handi Quilter Avanté longarm, employing rulerwork and free-motion quilting.  My Avanté is not computerized.

JoeAnn's Dear Jane Quilt is All Quilted

My customer's Dear Jane quilt is finished, all except the binding, which she will put on.  I will take pictures of it -- including the back -- tomorrow in natural lighting.
