Quilting is Done on The Birds of Colorwash Patch

The quilting is complete on The Birds of Colorwash Patch.  Here it is, lopped over the frame after being removed from it and trimmed.  I'll take some full shots of it after I get the binding and the label on it.  But first, I have three or four customer quilts to do.

The last few pictures are the back.  I couldn't quit taking pictures of this quilt!  😁

Today's Quilting

I should be able to finish quilting The Birds of Colorwash Patch tomorrow.  I have about half of the final borders completed.

Blue Borders Done

The blue borders are done. Taking a break to eat supper. I was half-starved half to death! (a la Bill Collins of The Sugar Creek Gang)

Playing Chicken

I basted the bottom of the quilt as closely as I could to the Red Snappers, then removed said Snappers -- and there's enough backing. Now to trim off the batting a bit so I can see what I'm doing, and then I'll pin the backing to the lower leader, re-baste the edge, and then remove the first row of basting, which wound up smack-dab in the middle of the last border. I think what happened is that the intense quilting ate up more backing than expected! I had plenty of fabric to give myself a little more leeway, but thought I had it long enough. This is gonna work, though. 😬

Nothing like playing chicken with your backing and not even knowing it!

Is There Enough Backing?

Starting on the bottom borders -- and it turns out, I didn't need to worry (much) about not having enough batting; I should've been worrying about not having enough backing! If there's enough, it'll be barely, barely. 😬😶

That last row took lotsa RNS! (Rulers 'N Stuff)

Last Row, More Than Half Done

I only had 3 ½ hours to work on the quilt today, so the last row and a half above the bottom borders is not quite three-quarters done.  A couple more days, maybe...
