Several have requested... so I have complied. Here are a couple dozen highlight photos from the construction and completion of the New York Beauty quilt.
It measures 115" x 115", and is comprised of 32 whites-on-cream and 25 whites-on-white 100% cotton fabrics. I designed it in EQ8 (Electric Quilt computer software) October 21, 2018; started working on it November 17, 2018; and completed the quilt and two matching king-sized pillow shams June 13, 2019.
It took a Grand Total of 639.5 hours. Here's a breakdown of some the lengthier processes: piecing, 106.5; quilting, 168.5; making the beaded piping, 42; attaching beaded piping and binding (binding was done all by hand, front and back), 63.5; sewing on the approximately 3,500 pearls, 109.
I used cream and white cotton 40# Signature thread on top and Superior's cream 60# Bottom Line in the bobbin. The batting is extra-loft poly. There are about 25 yards of Venice lace sewn into this quilt.
It won Best in County at our Platte County Fair, and Best of Show at the Nebraska State Fair. Now to try for a few big quilt shows somewhere or other!
