Irish Chain Border Sewn On

The LeMoyne Single Irish Chain border is now sewn onto the Wolves' Dream Catcher quilt.  Tomorrow I'll work on the next border.  (The upstairs library floor isn't big enough for this quilt!  😏)

48 Irish Chain Blocks

All 48 LeMoyne Single Irish Chain blocks are done; now to join them together to make the next border for the Wolves' Dream Catcher quilt.  But they'd make a pretty little quilt on their own, wouldn't they?  The blocks will measure 6 ½" finished.

I got a new, bigger pincushion.  After transferring the pins from the old pincushion, I cut it open -- and discovered all these needles inside it.  They've been in there a looong time, because I've been using this needlecase that I made back in 2015, and haven't stuck needles into the pincushion since then (or if I did, it was temporary [supposedly]).  (Yes, I threw away that big, ugly needle.)  The needlecase sports silk ribbon embroidery and an antique button from my mother's button box.

Delectable Mountain Block

This is one of the Delectable Mountain blocks for the Wolves' Dream Catcher quilt.  It measures 13" x 13".  It looks a bit askew, but it was only the camera that was askew.  😉  There are 14 of these blocks; the other 13 are nearly done.

Safari Animals Quilt, Finished

The Safari Animals quilt for grandson Jeffrey, who will be 17 in three months, is all finished.  Here's a full picture of it on the back deck in natural lighting, and some close-ups. (And yes, I do sweep the deck thoroughly before laying quilts on it, and shake the quilt out just as thoroughly after picking it up. 😄😁 )

The quilt measures 97" x 97".  I designed it in EQ8, and used Kenyan Plains Panel prints in the Wild Wings line, designed by Grant Hacking for Springs Creative Products.  The connecting blocks are called Cock's Comb.

The batting is Quilters' Dream Wool.  The majority of the thread on top is light tan 50-wt. So Fine, with a few other 40-wt. colors from Omni, Signature, and Magnifico used in the panels.  The bobbin thread is 60-wt. medium tan Bottom Line.

The quilting was done on my 18" Handi Quilter Avanté on a 12' Studio frame, using free-motion and rulerwork.  The label was embroidered on my Bernina 730 Artista.

Label for Safari Animals

The label for Jeffrey's Safari Animals quilt is done and sewn onto the quilt.  The binding is about half done; but it's time to quit for the night!  (I figured I would finish it Tuesday; thus the date.)

Floral Strips Quilt Done

Quilting is finished on my young friend's Floral Strips quilt.  It measures 45 ½" x 50 ½".  I used pale yellow 40-wt. Omni thread on top, and pale yellow Bottom Line thread in the bobbin.  The batting is 80/20.
