Paper Foundation

Here's what the newsprint paper foundation looks like on the back of the 21" blocks. There are 108 5½" Log Cabin blocks. I now have 2½ done, which leaves 105½ to go. 😀

Borders on Nine Kittens

The white 'confetti' block border and the final sparkly pink butterfly border with blue cornerstones are on the Nine Kittens quilt.  Now to remove all the foundation newsprint paper!

Sherri's Winnie-the-Pooh Quilt

Today I quilted a Winnie-the-Pooh baby quilt that a friend made for her new baby granddaughter.  It measures 43" x 39.5".  I used Quilter's Dream wool in it.  The top thread is 40-wt. white Omni; the bobbin thread is 60-wt. white Bottom Line.  The pantograph is Winnie the Pooh, designed by Sierra Ford of Fordable Quilting.

In case you are thinking that the quilting competes unhappily with the Winnie-the-Pooh picture, here it is under direct overhead light.

Center of Nine Kittens

The central section of the Nine Kittens quilt is done; now for the borders!  At the moment, it measures 73.5" x 73.5".  When the two borders are on, it will measure 86.5" x 86.5".

Strips of Log Cabins

The 108 Log Cabin blocks are now sewn into the sets of four and sets of two that are needed to go around the kitten pictures.  I wonder how long it's going to take me to remove the paper from all those blocks?  I paper-pieced them, as the 'logs' are .437" wide.

First Big Block, Nine Kittens

All the 5 ¼" Log Cabin blocks for the Nine Kittens quilt are done and trimmed, the kitten blocks are trimmed, and one big 21" block is complete.  Eight more to go, plus the sashing (5 ¼" blocks in the 'confetti' fabric).
